Light has been the main part of our world since the beginning of time. We have learned to use light to tell stories, relate, experiences, and communicate with one another. This book questions our perception of the world by examining the light through different forms of expression.
This project was heavily driven by research, curation of contents, and sequential storytelling. The interaction installation design decision was made with the characteristics of light: Refraction, Reflection, Diffraction, and Interferer. In addition, the prism of the book spine was used to manifest the perception of refracting reality.
The interactive installation was created using prisms and light sensors to contextualize the book's contents in real life. Experience changes depending on where people stand and where they place their prisms. From complete darkness to a 360-degree interaction, the play between light and shadows of prisms brings "refraction reality" to life.
